Post-Laminectomy Syndrome
This is when a person who has had spine surgery in the past is now experiencing pain. The syndrome is complex and can take many different forms.
In some patients, the spinal surgery actually went well, as did recovery, but the patient develops a new and unrelated spine issue.
In other cases, spinal surgery went well but did not resolve the original pain.
Lastly, post-laminectomy syndrome can refer to complications from surgery, such as infection, nerve injury, or lack of expected healing.
