Dr. Joyal is a licensed physician with board certifications in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, and Addiction Medicine. After graduating from Brigham Young University in Neuroscience in 2004, he then earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin with Honors in Research in 2009. The next steps in training included a Transitional Year at Wheaton-Franciscan St. Joe’s Hospital in Milwaukee with a heavy emphasis on inpatient Internal Medicine, completing the program in 2010. As a resident physician from 2010 to 2013, he specialized in Anesthesiology, receiving training from one of the nation’s most respected and recognized healthcare facilities, Washington University in St. Louis. After completing his specialty training, he further specialized in Pain Medicine and graduated from the University of Utah’s ACGME-accredited fellowship program in 2014. Dr. Joyal also provides options for medication-assisted treatment for opioid addiction and is licensed to prescribe Suboxone. He is also fluent in Spanish.

In his spare time, Dr. Joyal enjoys mountain biking, water sports, golfing, and spending time with his family.
