Jeremy Joyal, MD
Dr. Jeremy Joyal is a licensed physician with board certifications in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, and Addiction Medicine. After graduating from Brigham Young University in Neuroscience in 2004, he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin with Honors in Research in 2009. The next steps in training included a Transitional Year at Wheaton-Franciscan St. Joe’s Hospital in Milwaukee with a heavy emphasis on inpatient Internal Medicine, completing the program in 2010. As a resident physician from 2010 to 2013, he specialized in Anesthesiology, receiving training from one of the nation’s most respected and recognized healthcare facilities, Washington University in St. Louis. After completing his specialty training, he further specialized in Pain Medicine and graduated from the University of Utah’s ACGME-accredited fellowship program in 2014. Dr. Joyal also provides options for medication-assisted treatment for opioid addiction. He is also fluent in Spanish.

Areas of Focus
Dr. Joyal’s clinic is patient-centered, with a focus on functional rehabilitation from acute and chronic pain conditions, and a reduction of pain symptoms when a more suitable “cure” is not achievable. Dr. Joyal enjoys working with patients who provide equal commitment to their own health and focuses on recovering functional abilities, especially with patients suffering from cancer-related pain. Additionally, the current opioid epidemic has also provided him with opportunity to be a leader and resource for his physician peers to help combat this plague in our communities by 1) implementing his unique skillset to offer alternative treatment options to control pain and 2) addressing addiction to opioids (heroin and/or pain medications) through medication-assisted treatment.
